Nikki Bella Contemplates Wrestling Return with AEW

Since departing from WWE in March 2023, former superstar Nikki Bella, now known as one half of the Garcia Twins, has been considering making a wrestling comeback with AEW (All Elite Wrestling). In a recent episode of the Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Nikki revealed that her interest in returning to the ring was sparked by Mercedes Moné's AEW debut and her powerful promo about revolutionising wrestling on a global scale.

Nikki, drawn in by AEW's collaboration with other promotions worldwide, contemplated a year-long commitment to AEW. She saw potential in working with various leagues and felt inspired by the opportunities it presented. However, ultimately, Nikki decided against the move, prioritising the needs of her young son, Matteo.

The allure of returning to wrestling was strong for Nikki and her sister Brie, who had been contemplating storylines and promos during their intense workout sessions. Nikki admitted, "I got really serious about it. I thought, 'Okay, maybe I can do a year at AEW and do it every week.'"

Mercedes Moné's debut and her impactful words, "Here, we're going to make the evolution worldwide," resonated with Nikki. AEW's willingness to open the 'forbidden door' and collaborate with other wrestling promotions globally cemented Nikki's intrigue. She realised that AEW's approach created opportunities for female wrestlers in different promotions worldwide.

Excited by the possibilities, Nikki approached her sister Brie with her plans. "I said, 'Brie, I think I can do it for a year. I can go every week.' For a week, I was convinced. I was ready to call Tony Khan and commit," Nikki recalled. However, her responsibilities as a mother took precedence, as she reflected on her son's needs.

Nikki and Brie, who have embraced new ventures as mothers, entrepreneurs, and entertainers since leaving WWE, expressed their desire for personal growth and diversification. Their decision to depart from the Bella name signifies their commitment to carving their own paths in the industry.

While Nikki Bella won't be gracing the AEW ring anytime soon, her contemplation underscores the allure and excitement that wrestling continues to hold for former superstars. The world of professional wrestling is ever-evolving, and as fans, we can only speculate on what the future may hold for these beloved twins.
